Zenith Cup
Soccer teams of all types are expected at this year's Zenith Cup, scheduled for July 26th and 27th at the Blast Soccer Complex in San Bernardino.
The tournament, sponsored by Nitro, is 7v7. Collegiate players, high school seniors, adults, clubs, PDL and Super 20 teams are all eligible. The team fee is just $250. The tournament director is Tony Vigil. .

With the help of the Freebirds Wrestling Club, the Southern California wrestling community, and local supporters, AV resident Julie Wheeler will get to attend the Beijing Olympics and watch her son, Lancaster High grad Adam Wheeler, compete.
AVGSA teams play in State Championship Tourney
Two AVGSA teams, the U12s and the U14s, competed in the ASA State Championship tournament here in Lancaster this past weekend. The U12s went 2-1 in the opening rounds, and then failed to get out of the losers bracket. The U14s faired much better, winning their three opening games before getting eliminated on Sunday.

Rattlers end season with a tie

Despite dominating play for much of the game, the Lancaster Rattlers had to settle for a 1-1 tie in their season finale.

Falcons To Host Kick For a Cure Futsal Tourney

Local soccer teams will join the fight against cancer this August 1st. The Palmdale Falcon boys will host the Kick for a Cure futsal tournament, with all proceeds going to the Relay for Life of Palmdale.
The Palmdale boys proudly wear pink at their July 21st futsal match to heighten awareness of breast cancer. They will also participate in the Kick for a Cure tournament on August 1st. The Falcons beat Rosamond 8-4, and Quartz Hill knocked off Rosamond #2 16-4.
