Jr Midget: Highland Red Earns First Title, 19-6
The Lancaster Jets had hopes for their fourth title of the day, but the Highland Red Bulldogs had other ideas. A Bulldog “Red” team had never won a Super Bowl title, but they got won in a battle between the 3rd and 4th place teams in the division.

The key performance of the day was the running of Bulldog back Chris Jones, who scored on runs of 64, 3, and 30 yards. The lead was 13-0 after Jones 2nd score midway through the 4th quarter, but the Jets jumped right back into the game when Deonze Blue capped a long drive with a rushing TD over left tackle, making the score 13-6.

The Jets appeared to grab the onside kick that followed, but it was awarded to the Bulldogs because a Jet player had touched it before it went the required 10-yards. That set up Jones final scoring run of the day, a 30-yard sprint up the right sideline that essentially ended any chance of a Jet comeback.

Both teams finished the regular season with 8-2 records, tied in 3rd place. They both pulled off upsets of the #1 and #2 seeds to advance to the title game.
