Bustos Car Wash to Help Fund World Series Trip

The Bustos Elite 12U fast pitch travel softball team has qualified for the USSSA World Series in Orlando Florida at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex, July 26th thru Aug 2nd.
The team consist of players from Lancaster, Palmdale, Rosamond, Santa Clarita, Northridge and Reseda. Bustos Elite is a non profit organization created by two time Olympic Gold medalist Crystl Bustos to help sponsor inner city kids to help get them involved in all different types of sports. The team is managed by Jerry Draper. Coaches are Daniel Romero, Rob Lampson and Armondo Espioza. The team will be holding a fund raising car wash on Saturday June 28th at Rancho Vista Chevron, located at 30th St West and Rancho Vista Blvd from 10 am until 2 pm. Funds will be used to help defray the cost of the World Series trip.
Come out and watch the team play on June 29th at Desert Sands Park along with other 12u travelball teams in their Bustos Elite Friendly.

AVGSA Teams Compete in State Championships

Two local teams are representing the Antelope Valley in the ASA State Championships - the AVGSA U12s and U14s.
Both teams won their games on Friday, and played again on Saturday afternoon. All games are at Lancaster City Park.
The U12s got a 3-0 win over Buena Park, but fell to Eastvale on Saturday, 8-0. They bounced back with a 6-1 win over Pico Fastpitch late in the day. They were eliminated from the competition with two straight losses on Sunday.
The U14s have faired even better. Three straight wins have put them two wins away from the title.
Precious Medina steals 2nd for the AVGSA U14s in their game against San Dieguito.
Friday night they knocked off San Clemente, 4-2, behind a home run by Precious Medina. They broke open a close 2-2 game with San Dieguito and won going away 6-2. They followed that with a 9-4 win over Bellflower. However, two straight losses on Sunday spelled the end for the local girls.
